
Fenwick Island Town Hall is located on the bayside of Coastal Highway, between Bayard and Cannon Streets, and is open daily year round from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Summer hours include Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am to 3:00pm, for purchasing parking permits only.
The Town Administration, Public Works and Fenwick Island Police Departments are located in Town Hall. Call 911 for all Police emergencies. After regular business hours, non-emergency calls the FIPD can be made by calling 539-2000 and selecting the preferred option.

Parking Permits are sold ONLY between May 15 and Sept 15. and the permits are not available in advance, or by mail, they must be purchased the first day of use.
Parking is in great demand between

2. The Incorporated Town of Fenwick Island
This means the area of Fenwick Island which was incorporated in 1953 and known as The Town of Fenwick Island. The Town is a municipality, and is governed by a seven member Council and a Town Charter. The Town also has its own Police Department and Public Works. This incorporated area includes Atlantic Street to Lewes Street on the beachside and James Street to Delaware Avenue on the bayside. The rest of Fenwick Island is considered an unincorporated part of Sussex County.

. Large Appliance & Bulk Pick-ups:Yes, twice a year our Public Works Department collects large items and bulk trash.
5. Yes, there are code regulations for placing trash out for pick-up.

All bramble, sticks, tree trimmings must be securely tied together in bundles not exceeding 50 pounds and 4 feet in length.

Covered plastic containers, or metal trash containers, are acceptable but must not exceed 32 gallons in size or 50 pounds in weight. The cans should not be place out front any sooner than noon the day preceding a scheduled trash pick up unless suitable protection is provided for the containers.

Loose trash bags, other than black bags containing garden refuse, must be containerized.
6. If you rent out your house or property you must apply for a rental license with the Town of Fenwick Island and must pay a gross rental tax of 7.5% on your earnings each fall. This license must be renewed each calendar year. Please see the Town Building & Code official for important information regarding maximum occupancy limits in rental units.
